Our Lady Queen of Angels has faithfully served the East Harlem community since it was founded in 1892. We infuse students with Catholic values to promote positive self-awareness, a sense of responsibility, and an appreciation of all cultures and heritages.
Quality Education
OLQA provides its students with an enriched educational experience, the foundation of which is instruction in Catholic Christian faith and values. At the core is an effective and solid academic program that stresses mastery of basic skills in reading, writing, mathematics, history, science and social studies. In addition to these basic subjects, OLQA also provides students with curriculum enrichments in art, music, technology, and physical education in order to promote student’s intellectual, physical, and social development.
Small Class Sizes
Our students benefit from a small school setting. With only 1 class per grade, and an average class size of 25 students, each student receives the attention he or she needs. The teachers and staff provide a warm and caring atmosphere to nurture students’ social and academic development.
Preparation for Success
Our students’ success does not stop after they graduate. OLQA’s rigorous and well-rounded curriculum prepares our students for the high academic demands of competitive high schools. Teachers and staff support our students throughout the high school application process. Last year’s 8th grade class had a 100% graduation rate and will be moving on to some of the city’s top public and Catholic high schools.

OLQA is open to students from 7:00am to 6:00pm
